SEAFOOD, SIGHTS AND SCENERY

After church we got a snack at home and then set out to see a lighthouse up close before leaving Rhode Island. Pastor Bill drove us to Point Judith Lighthouse where we saw and heard the guardian of that part of the shoreline. The light was shining and the fog horn was signaling to the boats that the thick fog could be concealing dangerous rocks.

After viewing the lovely scenery, we went to eat some delicious seafood at a local restaurant. Once again we experienced new tastes--calamari and "stuffies" (stuffed clams)--and we liked them.

We left the restaurant and rode down the coast to Narragansett where we saw the ferries, fishing boats and twin towers. The twin towers are what remains of an opulent resort from the19th century. The resort was twice destroyed by fire and twice rebuilt, but the towers are the original structure, surviving both fires.
