We were greeted first of all by Tim and Jessica Hodges. Tim is a graduate of Gateway Christian College and we have watched him grow from a freshman there a few years back, into the young man of God that he is today. We are thankful for him. Jessica is one of "our girls" from Gateway. We have watched her grow up from infancy into the fine young, godly woman that she is today. We believe that God is going to greatly use this precious couple as they minister alongside Pastor Allen and Mrs. Jenny.
Pastor Allen arrived soon and it was so good to see him again. We have visited here 2 or 3 times before and are anticipating the great things that God will do here under his leadership. We were disappointed, however, since Mrs. Jenny and Allison were not here. They are visiting family and friends in NC and will return at the end of the week. I am thankful that they are having this time away and pray that they will come home rested and refreshed.
Pastor Allen preached on "Sometimes I Don't Agree With God" from Matthew 20:1-14. When things happen in our lives or in the lives of others, that are difficult to explain, how do you really feel. Ultimately, even when we don't understand, we must trust Him completely. Challenging sermon.
Tim and Jessica took us out to eat lunch and we enjoyed the opportunity to have fellowship with them. Pastor Allen had previous plans. Apparently he had a birthday this past week and some church members were helping him celebrate.
We attended church Sunday evening and on the way home we enjoyed the beautiful artistry of our awesome God...
