MYSTIC CONNECTICUT, MYSTIC SEAPORT

Today we decided to see the seaport that we have seen so many times on our way to Rhode Island. At first, we planned to go to the Mystic Aquarium, but since we've already been to several aquariums and the seaport looked so quaint and inviting, we decided to go there. There was also a wooden boat show going on and we thought that would be interesting. We were not disappointed.

We left home around 8 and arrived in Mystic around 9 am. It was obvious that others had decided to visit Mystic today as well. Even though it was crowded, it was not unpleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed the little seaside town that has been restored to its original state, along with all the piers and waterways. I loved all the sailboats as well as the other boats. The homes across the water were lovely. It was indeed a fun day, just enjoying the simple beauties of a New England seaport.

This was one of the first things we saw when we exited to Mystic. Notice the inscription at the top of the arch.

We immediately thought of  our good friend, Ken Lane, when we saw this fine machine.

One of the historical homes displayed these dishes. I love them and wanted to get a good picture of them.

This is the restored church.

a really old Rolls Royce

When we got back home, we drove to the church to see how things had progressed today.

Terry Miller completed some door closers today that Tommy had left just for him. Matt is finishing some painting baseboards in the restroom. By the way, the partitions in the rest rooms were installed today. Check one more thing off the list..yippee.

Mrs. Christy and Mrs. Tammy are framing diplomas and other documents for Pastor Bill's office

Brother Frank is diligently cleaning the storage room. Wow! it looks so much better.

the longest counter I have ever seen in a church kitchen! We are trying to strategically store things for efficiency

Finishing up for today!

Tammy, Christy and I work on cleaning off the counter. Christy decided to take our picture
