On this Father's Day morning, my mind turned back to the memory of my Dad. He's been in heaven for over 8 years now and many days I think of him and long for the time when we will be reunited in heaven. I am so thankful for the assurance that he had trusted Jesus as his Savior and is waiting in heaven for that great reunion day.
Although Daddy trusted Jesus after I was born, I was two years old and don't remember anything but a godly father. As a young man, he took seriously the responsibility of leading our home and loving his family in obedience to the Word of God. I never questioned his love for me. His love for God dictated his actions and I am so thankful for the memory of my Dad.
Along with my memories of Dad today, my heart was made grateful once again as we had the opportunity to attend church with our son, Gary, and his family. We have been in North Carolina for a few days to celebrate the 9th birthday of his youngest daughter, our 5th granddaughter, Kristen.
Gary and his wife, Melissa are training their three girls to love and serve the Lord and it is such a blessing to watch as they are growing in the Lord and serving him.
