Our trip from Pennsylvania was another adventure! We left after church on Thursday night and thought we would drive south of Fredericksburg and stop for a little rest before driving on in to Virginia Beach on Friday. Once we got on the road and thought about how nice it would be to be at home, we decided it would be worth the effort to drive on home. Who knew that there would be construction for several miles around Fredericksburg, a wide load at the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel that would stop traffic there for awhile and then a serious car fire/accident on I64 one exit before our exit, requiring re-routing of traffic. If we had known all this ahead of time, we probably would have stopped. But we didn't know so we were able to laugh our way through all of the above and arrive home at about 3:30 a.m.
We were able to sleep in a little while and then I got up and went to see Mom. It was good to see her after being gone for 2 months. After our visit it was time to buy groceries and get ready for the special days ahead when all the kids will be coming for a visit. Exciting days ahead!
Since July 4 fell on Monday this year, we had a special treat at church on Sunday night the 3rd. We enjoyed a meal together as a church family and then we were entertained and then a brief devotion from Pastor Karl. I have included pictures
