GOLFING IN RHODE ISLAND

What started out as a golf outing for Tommy with Brian, from church, turned out to be a foursome...Brian, Valerie, Tommy and me!! OH MY!!

We met them at the golf course about 9:00 this morning. The day was beautiful, around 80 degrees, and sunny. The course was a state park and it was beautiful. It was a 9-hole course, so that was a good thing as well. Since we didn't bring all my clubs on this trip, I played with 2 of my favorites that we did bring, a borrowed putter and pitching wedge. That's really all you need when you only drive 75-100 yards at a time. Yes it was slow going, but I hit it pretty straight. It just takes me awhile to get to the green. When I do get to the green, my putting is horrible. I can't "drive for show" or "putt for dough". Sad day!

Brian had not played in about 10 years, Valerie had never played, and I had never played on a regulation course. Obviously, Tommy had the advantage. The first hole was disastrous for all of us, but Tommy's game improved dramatically. The scores were "through the roof" but we had a great time of fellowship and exercise as we were able to see "all" of the course.

Naturally, the camera that I have been relying on would not work. It has been doing weird things, but we were  hoping it would decide to work today (really didn't want to spend money on a new camera). However, since we missed so many great photo ops today, we decided it was time to invest in a new camera. So, on the way home from the golf course, we stopped at BJ's and bought a new one.

Sorry there aren't any pictures to share from our golf outing, but we do have pictures of our yummy supper. Tommy did the honors at the grill and served up his usual delicious pork chops.

We patiently wait for Bill's call to end and then we "dig in"

After dinner, the miniature ping-pong table was set up in the kitchen and the competition began....
