QUIET DAY AT HOME

It never ceases to amaze me how the Lord knows exactly what we need. I was suppose to finish painting the nursery storage cabinets today, but I just didn't feel well. I had a rare headache that made me feel really yucky. And the New England temperatures have risen dramatically today. As I sit here contemplating, I am reminded that sometimes God has to get us still. Since I like to "get things done", I don't often sit still.

We have tentatively cleared our schedule for the day since I  don't feel well. What an opportunity to "be still and know that I am God." Thank you Lord, for reminding me to seek you, walk with you, and submit to you.

"Lord, I want to know you, live my life to show you, All the love I owe you, We're seekers of your heart!"

I can know God through reading and studying His Word, walk with Him by obeying His Word, submit to Him by surrendering to His will. I can only surrender to what I know and I gain knowledge of His will by obeying what I know, day by day. When I obey in the things that I already know, He will reveal the unknown.

I want to obey. Sometimes I am living my life so "loudly", I don't hear His voice. No voice is more important than His. I pray that my hearing will be "selective" as I tune my ears to Him, exclusively.

On a lighter note, we had a cat vs. rabbit showdown in the front yard this evening. Tommy noticed a cat crouched outside his window. Upon further investigation, he then noticed a rabbit just a few yards away. The cat slowly approached the rabbit, who actually turned away from the cat as if to challenge him. After several minutes, the rabbit scampered away, leaving a very surprised and disappointed cat. We actually captured as much of the standoff on film as we could.

The rabbit sitting by the boat trailer, watching the cat.

The cat, intently watching the rabbit.

The catching quietly inching toward the rabbit.

The cat with a puzzled look as the rabbit scampers away!
